Student Highlights
İpek Onmuşİpek Onmuş earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Koc University in Istanbul, double majoring in Media and Visual Art Department along with Department of Archaeology and History of Art. During her undergraduate studies, her research focused on illustration, picturebook studies, visual culture and Anatolian art. Her picturebook “A Long Way” was selected to be displayed at BASE 2017, a juried exhibition that brought together the works of newly graduated emerging artists of Turkey. Currently, Onmuş is pursuing a Master's Degree in China Studies as a Yenching Scholar at Peking University, focusing on contemporary Chinese art. |

Betül Gaye DinçBetul Gaye Dinc earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Koç University double majoring in Department of Archaeology and History of Art, as well as English Language and Comparative Literature as a full-merit scholarship student. She studied at Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, as an exchange student. She holds certificates on orientalism studies (2016) from Sabancı University and gender studies (2017) from Koc University. She is currently working on her Master’s degree at DTeS (Design, Technology and Spciety Program) on picturebooks for museums. Comics and children’s literature are among her research interests. |

Bilge Merve AktaşBilge Merve Aktaş holds a BSc in industrial product design department from Istanbul Technical University and a MA in Design Technology and Society program from Koç University. Currently, she is conducting her practice-led doctoral research at Aalto University on craft and design interaction with case studies in felt making. Her research interests cover issues incraft, design, maker culture, and materiality. |

Elvan SerinLives and works in Ankara. Graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Fine Arts in 2009. Exhibited in the group show “Nevnesil-Savunma Sanatı” at Galeri Nev, Ankara, 2011. Completed a major ceramics piece for Ramada Plaza Hotel in 2009. After her MFA degree at Yeditepe University on Biomorphic Forms and Their Perception in Space, she conducted a PhD degree at Hacettepe University. |

Seval ÅženerÅžener was born in Tokat and now lives and works in Ankara. Assistant Professor at Department of Sculpture, Hacettepe University. Åžener focus on traditional arts of Turkey and their intersection with contemporary art. Her solo exhibitions took place at Gallery Ama in Helsinki (2011) and at Gallery Nev in Ankara. Seval holds two BFA degrees: Turkish literature and fine arts. Received MFA from Bilkent University in Graphic Design, MA from Eastern Illinois University (fellowship), PhD from Hacettepe University in Sculpture. |

Uğur KoçLives and works in Istanbul. He studied Interior Architecture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (BFA honors) and at Hochschule für Künste, Bremen (via Erasmus). Currently, he is working at Eti Design Office as a Senior Interior Architect working on international projects. Uğur’s career has included participation in the Kleben Event with his own exhibition system design, in Bremen, Germany, in 2006. His graphic design works have been exhibited and published in Profile Intermedia 9 - The Confusion of Languages "The Tower of Babel " event (collaborating with Peter Rea). His "Teeküche"-Kitchenette design has been applied in Hochschule für Künste, in Bremen. Uğur has also participated in the Paper Furniture Event, collaborating with BDIA - Bund Deutscher Innenarchitekten, at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. |

İrem SevgörLives and works in Ankara. Graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Economics (honors). Worked as a freelance photographer. Currently, she is working on her MFA in the Media and Design Program at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at Bilkent University(scholarship). Involved in visual arts since childhood, İrem works with alternative photographic and printmaking techniques. Her awards include: 3rd Edition of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award by The Worldwide Photography Gala Awards 2012, 2nd prize, category fine art (juried by Dina Bova and Asmber Terranova). Participated in group show, IV. International Printmaking Exhibiton (curator: Richard Noyce-2011). |
